 Meet Linda Gettings
     Teacher, Author, Designer
Linda's studio looks like a high-end boutique in New York City or a trendy California establishment. Beaded jewelry covers nearly every surface. Incredibly intricate necklaces & bracelets hang from every conceivable type of hook or hanger. Mug racks, tie racks, & key racks display and store this vast collection of her original designs. Earrings dangle from the thin dowels of a thread holder, and beaded bags drape gracefully across miniature wooden dressmaker forms.

Linda has been beading for @ 7 years. She started re-stringing flea market finds and wanted to learn more. A visit to a local bead shop resulted in both an education in bead stitches and a part time job!
A quick study Linda began to do her "own thing" after learning the basics. When folks admired her original designs and asked for classes she became a teacher.
"I love to teach the beginner classes. I want them to enjoy beading so I help them succeed. Most of my designs are beginner level, they just don't look it!"

You won't find bins and boxes of loose beads in Linda's studio. Since she works in a bead shop she brings home just the beads needed for each new design and stitches it over the next few days. Any leftover beads usually find their way into a matching bracelet or earrings.

You may have seen Linda's designs in many of the other beading magazines, her book: Great Beaded Gifts, Sterling Publishing, was very well received.

We are very proud to offer her projects here in Bead-Patterns, the Magazine.
